Three things to start this all off though: 1) This information has been compiled by us at Mojo Stompboxes using our first hand experience with Boss pedals. It's always being updated when we find new information or new examples and can vary from pedal to pedal, but at the time of writing we've tried to make it as accurate as possible.

Sticker vs Stamp. Dating using this method is possible in the event that your serial number is obscured, damaged or faded. If you open the battery door on your pedal and you have a partial serial number sticker or can see some faded numbers, you can decipher a basic idea as to when your pedal was made.
