Guard Mobile User Vpn Client
Perhaps this is a stupid question. Based on the name, I naively assumed that the 'WatchGuard Mobile VPN with SSL' was an 'SSL VPN' (with characteristics & features like this: ). But, the WatchGuard requires a client, and that's very much NOT what I was expecting. So, am I missing something? What is the point to WatchGuard's 'Mobile VPN with SSL' over other VPN protocols that also require a client? And if I'm looking for 'SSL Tunnel VPN' capabilities (from ), do any of you have creative suggestions outside of 'go buy one of those too'? Thanks in advance for humoring my naivety.

It is easy for users to download and install directly from the Firebox. Even with the client requirements, an SSL connection over port 443 is easy to use in coffee shops and other wireless connections which will not allow more traditional VPN protocols. If you have mobile devices which will support a generic OpenVPN client, they can also use this client to connect with SSL. The Firebox does also support VPN connections with PPTP or L2TP, which many computer systems will support natively. At this time the Firebox does not support a kiosk-style VPN over SSL.
