According to my tables (Level 1, Table A, pages 10-11) in front of me now: 48m with a dive time of 13 minutes gives 2 minutes at 6m where dive time = time from leaving the surface to arrival at 6m. I'd interpret that as do dive and arrive at 6m on the way back at minute 13. Do 2 minutes of stops and then take a further minute on my way to the surface. Handily the second column on the table actually gives the ascent time as 3 minutes. As there is no entry for 8 minutes of bottom time we would of course move to the next entry which is 13 minutes. Please don't download this information or Woz may have to take you down.Err it was 40M so go to 42M and you can go to 12 mins without deco so 1 min descent 8 mins bottom time 3 mins assent to 6M you can just do it, or as you say move to 21 mins and have 2 mins deco @ 6M Long time since I used these things so feel free to correct me. When is a 'Safety Stop' not a 'Safety Stop'?
I find the term very confusing. One incident on a trip I was on, a PADI trained diver left her buddy, who was having problems to surface on her own so that she could do her own 'Safety Stop'. She had been taught never to miss a safety stop. In my view, a safety stop is one which is done in addition to the stops needed for deco -for additional safety. If a stop is mandatory, then surely that is not safety stop.Precisely. If I am reading the paper properly missing the mandatory safety stop could cause a bend, whereas missing the other safety stops should not cause a bend, just remove an extra layer of safety. I would call the first a deco stop (necessary) and the second a safety stop (nice to do, but not necessary to prevent a bend).
From memory - 50m, 17 minutes, Table A. You find that profile on another table recommended by another training agency. Propagandhi Torrent Supporting Caste Tab more. Not one in a morgue, a diving table. When I did a comparison it was even more aggressive than the original Proplanner set to zero conservatism. Digs.funny that as i ran proplanner against loads of other printed tables be4 i used it back in 94,, and proplanner came out more conservatism.
Most of the time,, also i did about 6 year diving proplanner on zero most of them gas dives 120min run times and depth from 45m, 87m ish no bends from them dives. Lol well no pot rides from them dives. Funny that as i ran proplanner against loads of other printed tables be4 i used it back in 94,, and proplanner came out more conservatism. Lol well no pot rides from them dives,I used to use it a fair bit for dives, but then I was 18 and 12 stone I now see it as my minimum line that I'd be happy getting out of the water on. It does seem to be more conservative with Helium than air though, punishing you for using 20-30% He, something that seems to have eroded over time. Maybe that conservatism was keeping us safe!
