I have two CK3100 kits and wanted to upgrade both to V5. The first one went straight through like a dream but the second, going from 4.1.9, caused the same problems as described in other reports. 'An error occured during the flashing progress. Please try again'. I tried both ULP and BIN files but neither would work and also followed Loz's procedure as above but, again, no success. I didn't have the 'object push' item that he mentioned - only Handsfree Telephony & Update By Serial.
I finally got it to load by first setting the kit to 'update software' and then turning off the 'Handsfree Telephony' feature in the Bluetooth properties menu for the CK3100. I then used the BIN file with the 'load by Bluetooth' option and it loaded immediately. I noticed that the serial option in properties was described as a 'virtual serial over Bluetooth' which is why I think the BIN file worked as it saw it as a serial connection albeit over Bluetooth. I get the impression that varying problems occur dependent upon which version you are upgrading from which could explain why different users have found different solutions. Perhaps the problems don't occur if you take each new update in sequence rather than trying to jump up 5 or 6 updates at a time.
It failed again.:-( I downloaded the latest sw files, ck31000_c.ulp and the.bin files on my laptop. Started the Update tool, selected the UPL file. Update methode: Bluetooth. It started the update.
Up to the Software update. And again I got the error message: 'An error occured during the flashing progress.' I even tried it after I copied the.BIN file away. Didn't made any difference.
I'll get in touch with technical support. First I have to locate the serial number of the Parrot kit since the first owner of the car didn't wrote it down somewhere and technical support asked for it. Regards, Eddy I had exactly the same problem trying to update my CK3100 to 5.00 from 4.23. I was using a Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop, Microsoft bluetooth, updating over bluetooth.
My parrot was reporting ~1200KB free space, but the update was failing at the last stage (flashing). I suspect the same problem will exist for Vista (it's essentially the same OS under the hood). After a LOT of faffing, I finally found the problem: 1. Make sure your car ignition and parrot is on and paired to your laptop 2. Go to Start ->Control Panel ->Devices and Printers ->Bluetooth Devices 3.
Assuming you've paired your laptop with the parrot, the kit should be shown as a bluetooth device 4. Right-click on the Parrot CK3100 device and select Properties 5. Click on the Services tab 6. DESELECT all services listed (Handsfree Telephony and Object Push) and click OK 7. Windows will then redetect your parrot with different services (it should include the virtual serial now) 8. Restart the flashing process with the bluetooth option, using the ULP file.
