Cod 4 Patch 1.1-1.7

Reset Paint Tool Sai To Default Definition here. There are many places you can get the updates from. Most are playing 1.7 now. I believe the cd version is 1.4 or something.

You may need to patch to 1.6 first as said above and then 1.7. As for it doesn't work on steam. I am not sure why he posted that. It is true that you can not activate your cd copy thru steam. So steam wont update it for you.

But you already know this. Once you get the correct version, you will play with anyone who owns cod4 and are playing the same version. Even if they own a copy from steam.

Does not matter. This is were the cd version comes in handy.

If you know what you are doing, you can download and get 1.6 downloaded. Like on a second hard drive.

And then download to 1.7 on another hard drive. There are not as many players anymore, but there are still some (and clans) that play older versions of the game. Mainly because basically each patch was just that. A patch to fix bugs. And some liked certain bugs that got patched.

And no, it doesn't work on Steam as for it's an old copy. I'm downloading 1.7, but my firefox says that fileplanet has unwanted software. Do they have some sketchy installer that could install toolbars or whatever? Or is my firefox just acting up? Sometimes I get that, but retrying a few different links works for me.

The only drawbacks is you need to patch it first and hunting them down after so long could be a problem. I'm lucky I have all the patches and dlc maps backed up on CD years ago. Would you be able to send them to me some how? I tried Fileplanet and the links don't work. Just follow the links here. They will lead you to all the official patches as well as other custom maps and mods here You need to install all the official patches in order from 1.1 - 1.7.
